Pay What You Want

Your buyer sets the price. You set the floor. Enable pay what you want on any product and let buyers choose an amount at or above your minimum — collected directly through your Stripe account.

Enable pay what you want on a product

Open your dashboard and go to the Content tab. Click + Add Product or edit an existing product. In the product modal, check Pay what you want. A minimum price field appears directly below the checkbox.

Pay what you want applies to one-time products — downloadable files, PDFs, guides, and templates. See Add a Product to set up your first product.

Set your minimum price

Enter the lowest amount you will accept. Enter 0.00 to accept any amount. Stripe requires a minimum charge of $0.50 for card transactions — any minimum below $0.50 is automatically raised to $0.50 at checkout.

Your store shows from $X.00 when a minimum is set. With no minimum, your store shows Name your price.

What your store shows buyers

When a buyer clicks the button on your store, a price input appears as an overlay on the page. They enter their amount, see your minimum displayed clearly, and continue to checkout. The overlay keeps buyers on your store throughout the process.

A buyer who enters an amount below your minimum sees a prompt to enter a higher amount before proceeding.

How checkout and payment work

The buyer’s chosen amount goes directly to your Stripe account. OwnYour enforces your minimum server-side — every buyer pays your floor or above. Your payout arrives on Stripe’s standard schedule, the same as your other products.

Pay what you want uses the same Stripe Connect checkout as your other products. Connect Stripe first to activate the button on your store. See Connect Stripe to get payments wired.
