Offer a Free Membership

Go to your dashboard and open the Content tab. Click Add Product and select Membership from the product type options. Free memberships must be subscription products with recurring billing enabled.

Choose either monthly or annual billing — the interval doesn't matter since members won't be charged, but Stripe requires a billing frequency for subscriptions.

In the product form, set the Price field to 0 or 0.00. This creates a free subscription that members can join without providing payment details.

Add a compelling name and description that explains what free members get. Be clear about the value you're offering, even at no cost.

In the Content section, specify what free members can access. This might be basic articles, weekly updates, or community features. Consider this a gateway to your premium offerings.

Set appropriate expectations about what free members receive versus paid tiers. Clear differentiation helps convert free members to paying subscribers later.

Click Save. Your free membership appears on your store with a Join Free button instead of a price. When visitors click it, they sign up instantly without entering payment details.

Free members appear in your Members list with Active status but won't contribute to MRR since they pay nothing. Use this to build your audience for future conversions.
